- Camilo Galvis
- Executive Director, abc* Foundation
Camilo Galvis is the Executive Director of the abc* Foundation. Prior to joining the abc*, Camilo was the Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Colombia in London, where he promoted the negotiation and ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between the Community of Andean Nations and the European Union.
Camilo is also a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York City, where he conducts research on applied mathematics to finance and economics with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Columbia Business School.
Previously, he was the Director of Information of Fortune International, a Florida-based real estate development and investment firm, and an Integrated Technology Specialist with IBM.
Camilo holds a BS degree in Economics from the University of Los Andes in Colombia and the University of Sydney in Australia and an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University.
- Rebecca Mandelman
- Deputy Director, abc* Foundation
Rebecca Mandelman is the Deputy Director of the abc* Foundation where she manages the La Tablée des Chefs and Fairtrasa initiatives, manages the organization’s marketing, oversees its large-scale events, and handles operational responsibilities. Prior to joining the abc* Foundation, Rebecca was the Senior Director of Development at the New World Symphony (NWS) where she managed event and corporate fundraising.
Previously, Rebecca specialized in arts and entertainment sponsor acquisition, marketing, event production and public relations for the New York-based organization Gen Art, the City of Miami Beach’s Cultural Affairs division, the City of Miami Mayor’s Office, Miami-Dade College, NWS and Poder Magazine. She also executed an expansion feasibility plan for international media company Time Out and served as the Consulting Editor for its Miami Guide Book 2008 edition. Rebecca started her career with the National Basketball Association in New York as an International Publicist.
Rebecca is an active member of the community currently serving as a Board member of the Overtown Music Project, Board member and Treasurer of 85 Broads Miami, the Vice-President of the Georgetown Alumni Club of Miami, a National Council Director of Friends of NWS and as her business school class' Alumni Representative. She has also held voluntary leadership positions with the Next Gen Council of the Chapman Partnership, the Arsht Center’s Green Room Society, Fashionably Conscious benefiting Coconut Grove Cares, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program.
Born and raised in New York City, Rebecca received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern) and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a major in Government and minors in Spanish, English and Art History.
- Rodrigo Bravo
- Senior Director of Operations, abc* Foundation
Rodrigo Bravo is the Senior Director of Operations of the abc* Foundation where he manages the Cauce Ciudadano and A Ritmo de Cambio initiatives, and is integral in the Foundation’s day-to-day management.
Prior to joining the abc*, Rodrigo was Director of Music for Zumba Fitness, the world’s largest and most successful Latin-inspired dance fitness with presence in more than 125 countries. As the Director of Music, Rodrigo exposed the Zumba brand to major labels, superstar artists and managers, and materialized cross-promotion opportunities with various top tier musicians.
Rodrigo has written, arranged, performed, engineered, mixed and produced music for numerous projects ranging from TV shows to working alongside renowned international stars. He co-produced a Latin Grammy-award winning album musicalizing children’s poems by Colombian author Rafael Pombo with all proceeds supporting the Rafael Pombo Foundation, a non-profit focused on children’s education.
Rodrigo graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a dual major in Film Scoring and Music Production & Engineering.
- Nicolas Ibargüen
- Director, abc* Foundation
Nicolas Ibargüen is the Director of Planet Initiatives at the abc* Foundation where he oversees the Marine Protected Areas project and environmental partnerships with organizations such as National Geographic.
Nicolas is also the Publisher and Editor of PODER Magazine, the business publication of Televisa, the largest Spanish content provider in the world. Under Ibargüen’s tenure, PODER grew from a base circulation of 25,000 to 400,000 (audited, in the US). Nicolas also presides over the PODER Forum and Business Awards, annual high profile meetings of world-renowned Latin American Business Leaders.
During his tenure at the abc* Foundation, Nicolas has created strategic alliances with National Geographic Society, Natural Resources Defense Council and The Society of Environmental Journalists, among many other organizations, which have served as platforms to further the Foundation’s environmental initiatives. He also recently produced two documentaries: “Amazon Gold”, a look at the devastation of the Amazon seen through the lenses of two war correspondents, to be released in 2013, and “From Trees and Stars”, an overview of the state of Mexico’s protected areas, screened at the UN meeting in Cancun in 2010 by President Felipe Calderón.
Nicolas has also organized large-scale environmental events, such as the 2007 Green Forum featuring Al Gore, with the mission of creating awareness and sharing best-practices in the pursuit of a more environmentally-consciousness and sustainable society.
- Tailer Senior
- Creative Director, abc* Foundation
Tailer Senior is a graphic designer with over ten years of high-level editorial and branding experience. She has held numerous progressive design and marketing positions for large-scale media publications and high profile event forums, culminating in her current roles as Creative Director of the abc* Foundation and Poder Magazine. In these roles, Tailer manages each stage of the design process, from directing content for editorial design work to branding and event collateral design.
Tailer has unilaterally directed every aspect of design and production of collateral material for the abc* Foundation’s prestigious forums featuring media personalities, musicians, dignitaries, and world leaders including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mikhail Gorbachev, Maná, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricky Martin, Captain Paul Watson, Sir Richard Branson, Lance Armstrong and David Axelrod.
While at Page One Media, Tailer spearheaded the production of Hispanic Enterprise, Tu Dinero Magazine, HISPANIC Magazine, as well as the United States and Miami editions of Poder Magazine. During her tenure as Creative Director, Tailer executed complete redesigns of Hispanic and Poder Magazine.
Tailer is a graduate of Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Psychology and holds a post–graduate certification in graphic design from Parsons School of Design.
- Adrian Saravia
- Fellows Liaison, abc* Foundation
Adrian Saravia is the abc*Fellows Liaison. In this function, he coordinates the Foundation’s interactions with the abc*Fellows and co-produces the group’s annual meeting.
He also is the Creative Director for Content 18, an incubator for digital ventures focused on producing content-centered online platforms and experiences.
Previously, Adrian spent nine years creatively directing publications ranging from international men's lifestyle title LOFT, to B2B publications such as Hispanic Trends, the cultural HISPANIC Magazine and business-focused Poder Magazine. While at LOFT, the publication grew from a regional title to having multiple editions across the US, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela.
With Page One Media, an editorial content company working in strategic partnership with Editorial Televisa, Adrian produced, led major design overhauls and oversaw the creation of digital counterparts for Hispanic Enterprise, Tu Dinero, HISPANIC Magazine and the US edition of PODER.
Adrian is a graduate of the Film and Television program from New York University and of the Stanford University Professional Publishing Course.
